Biography

Jeffrey L. Tucker was born in Atlanta and grew up in Cobb County, attending Cobb County schools. In 1989, he received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude with distinction in Philosophy from Duke University, where he was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa. Following graduate study at the University of Chicago (Philosophy), he returned to Atlanta and received his law degree magna cum laude in May of 1997 from Georgia State University; he has pursued further academic training and received several advanced degrees (Musicology) from Yale University.  He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1998.

 

Jeffrey joined the firm in September of 2005. His practice is primarily devoted to two principal areas: corporate matters, and estate/fiduciary planning and administration. In the corporate area, he handles matters of corporate entity formation and governance, contracts, real-property acquisition and sale, and employment issues, with special attention to the unique interests and needs of multi-generational family businesses. In the estate/fiduciary area, he advises clients on their estate-planning needs during life and thereafter; and represents fiduciaries throughout the estate-administration process, including the delicate issues involved in contested and complex estates.

 

In addition to his work on corporate and fiduciary matters, he has served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Smyrna, Georgia, for 20 years.
